September 2021 Meeting Notes
September 2021 Minutes NCK Saddle Club
9/7/2021
President Ritchie Farrell called the meeting to order at the Arena at 7:30 pm.
The minutes were read and approved as read.
The Treasurer’s report was approved as presented. The Rodeo made $7, 774.32 and the concession stand showed a profit of $2,689.71.
The rodeo was discussed and all present were pleased with the results.
The next work night will be Tuesday, September 21 at 6:00 pm to ready the arena for the Buckles Series on Sunday the 25th.
Jason Wheeler will start work on the lights on the South side of the arena in October. Eric has some lights given to him from the arena in Abilene, and will consult with Jason about using them on the North side of our arena. Aggie will discuss with the Fair Board about possibly using some of those lights on the South side of the road in the parking area.
The speaker on the east end needs new wiring. We will try to get the speaker working when we have the equipment here to place the lights.
Eric requested a list of entries for the Jr Buckle series to have at the entry gate during the events. Eric also has goats if anyone would want to practice goat tying.
Aggie will also discuss the covered arena with the Fair Board, as the Saddle Club is supposed to have the use of the covered arena during the winter months. Bleachers are currently being stored there, and the rocks in the arena are a hazard.
Activities:
Charlie will have his monthly trail ride on September 12 at 12:30 pm
Fall Fest Parade is September 25- meet at 9:00 am on the RR tracks between Cedar and State Streets.
The remaining dates in the Buckle Series are September 25, October 10, and the make -up date for the missed date in August is October 24th. Novice prizes will be given at the Annual Meeting. Adults will have a first, second, and third prize.
Donna is again planning a Halloween Play Day.
Ritchie will talk to Leroy at the Legion about scheduling our Annual meeting there. Hopefully we can get a date for the first weekend in December. We will again bring desserts.
The Mustang Youth Challenge at the State Fair will be September 18th and 19th. Natalee Bray will have a mustang in that Challenge.
The meeting adjourned. Next meeting will be October 5 at the Fire Station Training Room.
