April 2015 Meeting Notes

President Aggie Moore called the meeting to order at 8:05 pm. The minutes were read and approved. The treasurer reported the checking and savings. There was money in from membership dues, drill team, and rodeo sponsorships and bills for electric, Roundup, and cases of water. Lana Stolzenburg turned in some receipts, Brenda Lagasse will look at them.

Board of Directors met just before the meeting about arena maintenance. The concession stand door was fixed by Ritchie Farrell, but the stand needs flashing on the north side, shutters for the windows, screens to slow the flies, two table inside, and a fridge to replace the one that the door won’t stay shut. The cook shack need the door picked up and installed. The arena needs to be chiseled up and the dirt moved back in the arena. Lance Lagasse is wanting to add eight gates with overheads (about $150 each) to be flat on the west end of the arena and split two pens behind the crow’s nest to help with the High School Rodeo. The ground in the roping calves chute/alley is really washed away and it was proposed to pour concrete to stop the erosion. The area where we place tarps for the rodeo, it was discussed to use plywood and paint it white. The letters “NCK ARENA” on the crow’s nest need to be repainted. The flag pole needs to be replaced, several options are northwest corner, in front of crow’s nest, or southwest by the roping box. We are needing more seating for the rodeo by seeing about getting the bleachers from the city that used to be at the old arena. Several boards on the bleachers on the north need to be replaced.
