January 2023 Meeting Notes

Minutes January 3, 2023

The meeting was called to order at the Fire Station by President Ritchie Farrell.  Secretary Marleen Parker read the minutes, which were approved as read with one correction.   Treasurer Brenda Lagasse gave the Treasurer’s report, which was approved as read.

Old Business:

No update on the Crow’s Nest project was available. Ritchie will need help moving the blocks for the manure bunker.

The cost of the 2023 Rodeo is not yet available. Dates for our Rodeo will be July 7 & 8.

New Business:

The motion was made, seconded, and passed to renew our insurance.

The Cloud County Fair will be July 18- 22.  The Fair Open Horse Show will be July 16.

Brenda reported that the CYRA would like to have an event at our Arena.  Dates would be June 10-11, Aggie will get approval from Fair Board.  Our concession stand did very well last year.

Races are already on the Fair Board Calendar and will start April 22 and run every Sunday through Labor Day.  The Trap Shooters are already on the Calendar for Sundays at 4 pm.

Jim and Jean Franey have donated 3 barstools for the Crows Nest. The Bar Stools are temporarily stored in the south concession stand.

Aggie reported that the Fair Board would like us to move the bleachers in the covered arena.

Charlie voiced a concern about the rocks in the covered Arena. Volunteers will be needed to pick up rocks.

The motion was made, seconded, and approved to mount 2 motion activated solar lights on the south concession stand at a cost of $20.

Possible activities and arena projects were discussed. Ritchie has obtained some blocks for the manure bunker, the blocks will need hauled to the arena and placed in position.

The Annual Board of directors meeting was set for January 24 at 7 pm at Lance’s office.

Charlie will have a Trail Ride the 8th at 1:00 pm. Everyone is welcome.
