August 2014 Meeting Notes
Meeting was called to order at 8:08 pm by President Aggie Moore.
Minutes were read and approved
Treasurer reported checking and savings.
Bills presented and approved to pay: Walmart receipts for propane and Roundup.
Board of Directors had not met.
Activities Committee:
Kid’s Buckle Series will start on Sunday, September 21st.
KJRA is August 15-17
Junior High/High School Rodeo is August 22-24
Trail Ride is Sunday, August 10th at the Missile Silos. Charlie Hansen will be working cattle at 7:30 am for the trail ride.
Watermelon Festival Parade is on Saturday, August 30th at 10:00 am (be there at 8:30 am) in Clyde.
The Activities Committee will meet after the meeting to discuss the Kid’s Buckle Series and the Halloween Fun Show.
New Business
KJRA: The Drill Team is running the concession stand, Lana Stolzenburg has a sign up sheet if you would like to help. FFA is meeting on Tuesday, August 19th to put up the stalls. We are hoping to have 90 to 100 stalls.
Lance Lagasse brought up needing a gate for the warm up arena. Several ideas were discussed and it was decided that one 16’ gate would be best. Eric Voss made a motion to purchase a 16’ foot gate for the warm up arena. Brenda Lagasse seconded the motion and the motion passed.
Junior High/High School Rodeo: Drill Team will run the gates, we need three people there at all times. 53 stalls are already rented out. 4-H will run the concession stand and FFA will help with the arenas. We need timers and announcers.
A work night is scheduled for Wednesday, August 20th at 6:30 pm to put up the tent.
Charlie brought up that Briana’s horse broke the east hydrant and that adding a shut off for it would be a good idea.
Donna Barleen brought in a box of Saddle Club stuff for us to use. There were armbands, horse show ribbons, etc.
Lance mentioned how the well the rodeo clown was received. Next year’s entertainment was discussed and Greg Lehmann will look into it.
